Zombie Tsunami Online

A one-button runner where your score is your crowd. You start as a single zombie and grow the horde by biting pedestrians, then spend that horde as a health bar against cars, gaps and barriers.

Game overview

Zombie Tsunami Online inverts the usual runner economy. In most endless runners you collect coins that sit in a counter; here the thing you collect is also the thing that keeps you alive. Each pedestrian you catch joins the group, and each car or wall you hit removes members rather than ending the run outright. That single design decision changes how the whole game feels — a big horde is permission to be careless, and a horde of two makes every obstacle a genuine threat. Jumping is the only verb, applied to a group that moves as one mass, so the skill is less about reflexes and more about reading which obstacles are worth eating and which must be cleared cleanly.

This title is best suited to players who want a runner they can pick up in one second but still make real choices in — the tension between eating pedestrians and spending them is the whole game.

How to play Zombie Tsunami Online

  1. Tap or press to make the entire horde jump; there is no separate control for individual zombies.
  2. Run into pedestrians deliberately — they are not hazards, they are your health bar and your score.
  3. Treat cars, buses and barriers as subtraction: hitting one costs you zombies, and the run only ends when the last one dies.
  4. Grab the powerups that appear mid-lane. They typically transform the whole horde at once, which is why they can rescue a run that is down to one or two members.
  5. When your horde is large, tank a small obstacle rather than risk a mistimed jump. When it is small, jump early and conservatively.

Controls

  • Tap, click, or press Space to jump
  • Hold for a slightly longer hop where the game supports it

Objectives and failure conditions

Objectives

  • Cover as much distance as possible before the horde is wiped out
  • Convert pedestrians into horde members faster than obstacles remove them

The run ends or fails when

  • The run ends when the last zombie in the group is killed — not on first contact
  • A long stretch with no pedestrians followed by dense traffic is the usual way runs collapse

Gameplay mechanics

  • Horde-as-health: the crowd doubles as your score counter and your damage buffer
  • Single-input jumping applied to a group rather than one character
  • Powerup transformations that convert the whole horde into a temporary alternate form
  • Escalating traffic density as distance increases

Tips for Zombie Tsunami Online

  • Your horde size is a spending budget, not a trophy. If you are hoarding it and playing timidly you are leaving distance on the table.
  • The most common death is not a big crash — it is arriving at heavy traffic with a horde of one because you skipped pedestrians earlier.
  • Powerups are worth a small detour. A transformation at low horde size is often the difference between a 500m run and a 2000m one.

What worked well and what did not

Pros

  • The horde-as-health-bar idea gives a one-button game genuine decision-making
  • Losing zombies instead of dying outright means runs recover, which keeps sessions going

Cons

  • With only one input, there is no way to dodge sideways — some obstacle spacings feel unavoidable
  • Runs can end anticlimactically when a large horde is chipped away over a long stretch rather than lost to a mistake
