Game overview
When a matcher fixes its clear condition at a specific count, the whole board is read against that number. Aiming for exactly the target where possible, and setting up positions that reach it in one move, is more efficient than clearing smaller groups repeatedly. As with other gravity-refill matchers, working low on the board lets clears cascade upward through visible tiles, while high clears drop unknowns. The interesting decisions are about building toward the target count rather than taking whatever small match presents itself, since a well-set-up five-group can trigger a cascade a scattered three cannot.
This title is best suited to players who like matchers with a specific target to build toward.
How to play 5 Fruit
- Set up clusters that reach the target count in one move.
- Match near the base so clears fall through tiles you can already see
- Prefer building toward the target over taking small immediate matches.
- Read the board for where a cascade can chain rather than the first clear you see.
Controls
- Click or tap to select or swap tiles
Objectives and failure conditions
Objectives
- Clear groups that meet the target count
- Hit the level goal inside the move allowance
The run ends or fails when
- Exhausting the move allowance before the goal
- Wasting moves on small groups that do not advance the target
Gameplay mechanics
- A fixed target count shaping valuable clusters
- New tiles dropping from the top, so low matches are more predictable
- Cascade chains from well-set-up groups
- Level goals directing which clears help
Tips for 5 Fruit
- Build toward the target count. A set-up group triggers cascades a scattered small match cannot.
- Match low for cascades; high clears just drop unknown tiles.
- Read for chain potential rather than taking the first clear available.
What worked well and what did not
Pros
- The target-count focus gives matching a clear objective
- Cascades reward board reading
Cons
- Layouts sometimes offer no productive move
- Progress can stall when the board draws unfavourably
