The break is the other under-appreciated moment: a good break spreads the table and gives you options, while a weak one leaves a cluster that will cost you several turns to unpick. Between those two, most losses in this format are rule violations and clusters rather than missed pots.

1. Break firmly and try to spread the pack rather than aiming for a specific pot.
