Game overview

Training-oriented racers exist to teach the basics without punishing you, and this one is honest about that: the circuits are wide, the grip is generous, and the AI does not drive at a competitive pace. Judged as a race it is undemanding. Judged as a place to build habits it is genuinely useful, because you can practise braking before turn-in, hitting an apex and feeding in throttle without a slide ending your session every time you get it slightly wrong. The right way to use it is deliberately: pick one technique per session rather than driving laps for their own sake.

This title is best suited to newer players learning racing fundamentals, or anyone wanting a relaxed circuit without pressure.

How to play Training Race

  1. Brake in a straight line, turn in, then feed the throttle back progressively.
  2. Aim for a late apex on tighter corners and a smooth arc on faster ones.
  3. Use the forgiving grip to practise a specific technique rather than to drive fast.
  4. Run consistent laps and compare times rather than chasing a single quick one.

Controls

  • Arrow keys or WASD to steer, accelerate and brake

Objectives and failure conditions

Objectives

  • Complete laps and finish the event
  • Build consistent cornering habits while the surface is forgiving

The run ends or fails when

  • Leaving the track, though the wide layouts make this uncommon
  • Not meeting the lap or finish criteria for the session

Gameplay mechanics

  • Generous grip levels with a high tolerance for imprecision
  • Wide circuit layouts reducing the penalty for a missed line
  • Non-competitive AI pacing
  • Lap timing for self-comparison rather than opposition

Tips for Training Race

  • Use it as a practice tool, not a race. Pick one thing — braking points, apexes, throttle application — per session.
  • Consistency over pace. Five similar laps teach more than one fast one and four spins.
  • The forgiveness here is the feature. Take the opportunity to get things wrong cheaply.

What worked well and what did not

Pros

  • A genuinely low-pressure place to learn cornering fundamentals
  • Wide tracks and soft grip mean mistakes rarely end a session

Cons

  • Offers almost no challenge to anyone with racing-game experience
  • AI pacing removes any competitive tension
